Through his study, David came to learn that drownings were the fourth leading cause of accidental death in the United States. David has made it the mission of LJS to promote on the water safety and life jacket awareness by designing safe and FUN life jackets that inspire both adults and children to want to wear life jackets and to be safe on the water.
LJS develops and markets innovative life jacket concepts including major licensed products and exclusive proprietary products based on two patents the Company has named the “Buff Bod” and the “Jersey Jacket”. LJS has a number of other products in various stages of development and in the patent process.
LJS currently holds exclusive distribution of collegiate branded life jackets via partnerships with the CLC, Fermata and Learfield. It is the company’s desire that families and water sport enthusiasts will enjoy supporting their alma mater or favorite collegiate team while promoting proper water safety.

David Lee
Chief Executive Officer
David Lee is the Chief Executive Officer of Life Jacket Solutions. David carries more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience with 15 years in the medical industry. David founded Life Jacket Solutions in 2012 and has worked aggressively to secure a number of patents while establishing the business and building a pipeline for new products. David avidly enjoys water sports and recreation with friends and family. His passion and drive for success in his new company, Life Jacket Solutions, comes at the loss of a family friend to drowning. David is focused on bringing new innovative ideas which focus on the safety of life jackets and saving lives. David lives with his wife and two daughters in Memphis, TN.
Jonathan Weatherly
Chief Financial Officer
Jonathan’s strength is in the management consulting and strategy areas with several direct roles in startup organizations. Jonathan began his career at Towers Watson where he managed major corporate strategy and management project processes. He was also an officer and Vice President of Corporate Development and Financial Planning with Zurich Insurance before working in leadership roles with two different healthcare software startup firms. He returned to Towers Watson in 2012 as Director of Global accounts. Jonathan received his BA from Dartmouth where he was a varsity cross country and track athlete. He received his MBA in Finance & Marketing from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University where he was an Austin Scholar. Jonathan resides in the greater Chicago area.
Mike Quinlan
Vice President of Marketing
Mike Quinlan has spent the last 20 plus years in the marketing world in multiple leadership capacities and industries. While specializing in strategic planning, Mike also has spent a large portion of his career in brand positioning, brand integrity and consumer research. Mike worked in the commercial real estate sector (self-storage), GE Commercial Finance and AutoZone Parts Inc. Most recently, Mike served as the Director of Marketing for Malibu boats. Mike has an extensive background in brokering industry and celebrity and professional athlete partnerships. Mike received his BS in Business Administration from the University of Memphis in 1997 and splits his time between the Knoxville and Memphis markets.
Jason Crippen
Vice President Transportation & Logistics
Jason Crippen has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, beginning as an equipment operator during summers as a University of Tennessee student. After graduating UT with a bachelors degree in marketing, he has been involved in the sales, marketing and management side of the construction industry eventually becoming a business owner himself. After building and eventually selling 2 construction companies, Jason developed and managed several properties in the Knoxville area and is now excited to be a part of the Life Jacket Solutions team.
